The archeologists believe it is from the kubu (fort) of the rajo (king), related to King Adityawarman, the king of Malayapura, a kingdom in central Sumatra in the mid-14th century. He is also credited with founding the Minangkabau kingdom of Pagarruyung in Batusangkar. The inscription has sixteen lines of text. See more information here.
