Song in the Sumatran Highlands

Term: kiek

Kiek (or "kiat" in Indonesian) means "special technique, way, method (to perform [something]) (Indonesian Dictionary). Martis used it in reference to refer to songs from the same places that sounded similar, including "Jambatan Tangah," "Mudiak Suak," "Suntiang Patah Batikam" and "Tigo Giriak."
