Janang Announcement #1 02/06/2004
Contents: Islamic Greeting, names of performers, their place of origin, and place of residence, date. Also mention of a guest from Australia, explaining my presence there. More like a regular speech in terms of delivery and flow, than a part of the performance proper, with a mix of pasambahan (Minangkabau ritual speech), Indonesian bureaucratic speeches, and the obligatory seeking of forgiveness in advance of potential mistakes. The performance was also being broadcast.
