Welcome to Song in the Sumatra Highlands
There are a number of ways a user might navigate this website. It works on both computers and personal devices, such as a smartphone or a tablet. The interface looks a little different depending on which one you will use. Both, however, offer three main systems of navigation.
- The Table of Contents: This provides a list of topics in order, much like any table of contents. But you do not need to methodically make you way through one section to the next. Moreover, clicking on the arrows next to an item will take you to the content within each section, often with many subdivisions and individual pathways.
- Wayfinding: This offers several tools that a use might find useful. The first is a list of "recent" places visited on this particular device. "Visualizations" offers the opportunity for a user to select different visualization models to see the connections. For example, choosing the "Path" visualization will let you interact with a tree diagram of all the paths that have been built within the project, while the "Connections" will reveal all the connections between pages, paths, and media.
- Search Book: this function allows you to search for specific material, say a song title or a place.
